Class Description In this beginner's gintsugi workshop, you'll have the opportunity to experience the captivating art of mending broken ceramics with silver. Gain an understanding of the ancient Japanese technique that beautifully repairs pottery while enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Gintsugi is the silver cousin of kintsugi, gold repair. Genuine 23k gold can be added to your experience upon request, but the tools and techniques do differ depending on the metal choice. Upon entering the workshop, any fears or worries will instantly melt away as you embark on this exciting creative journey. Led by our experienced instructor, you'll be guided through a step-by-step process that demystifies the art of gintsugi. Throughout the workshop, you'll work with a variety of materials to create your own one-of-a-kind gintsugi pieces. This includes genuine silver, handcrafted tools specifically designed for this art form, as well as salvaged ceramics from local studios. Don't worry if you've never attempted this technique before – this class is designed specifically for beginners. You'll be amazed at the sense of accomplishment you'll feel as you witness your broken ceramics transform into unique, beautiful artworks. This hands-on experience will not only teach you the art of gintsugi, but it will also provide you with a newfound appreciation for the beauty of imperfections through the philosophy of wabi-sabi. By the end of the workshop, you'll have your own gintsugi creations to take home and proudly display. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn a fascinating new skill and explore your creativity. Join us for an unforgettable workshop where you'll discover the art of gintsugi and create stunning pieces that celebrate the beauty of imperfection !
